Malibu WWA Rider Experience West Goes Big In California

Larson Marine Hosts The Second Stop At Mossdale Lakes

From Stockton, CA (June 10, 2013) – Perfect wakes from the Malibu WAKESETTER 22 MXZ ran up and down Mossdale Quarry Lakes for the second-ever WWA Rider Experience on June 7-9 outside of Stockton, California. Amateur wakeboarders, wakeskaters and wakesurfers of all ages and abilities came out and ripped it up at the fun-filled customizable wake event.

Freeride Friday saw several riders improve their skills on the water. Hot weather and a refreshing lake delivered, as Cobe & Tarah Mikacich, Chad Sharpe and Trever Maur taught everything from how to get up all the way to advanced moves.

These riders, combined with parents and coaches, continued their wake education over at Larson Marine’s Stockton location for the Judge’s Experience. This interactive program taught wakeboard enthusiasts what WWA Officials evaluate in a competition pass as well as course management and other aspects to help riders elevate their competition riding.

Saturday kicked off with the WWA Wakeboard West Regional Championships. Riders in several different WWA divisions came out and were able to secure their seeding for the WWA Wakeboard National Championships in late July. The riders were pumped as CWB Board Co., Ronix, WWA and Larson Marine raffled off tons of product including hats, t-shirts, surf ropes, boat supplies and a few wakeboards. A BBQ was provided by Larson Marine and awards for the contest were delivered by Malibu Pro Team riders, Chad Sharpe and Cobe & Tarah Mikacich.

There was no better way to wrap up this event than SURF GATE Sunday. CWB Board Co., and Ronix waksurfers were on hand to slash thigh-high perfect waves on the quarry; even Cobe Mikacich got out and transferred from surfing frontside to backside a few times, something that can only be possible with new technology such as SURF GATE.

“The weekend was amazing!” expresses AJ Capuzzo, Jr. Men’s rider. “I loved that I was able to ride behind the AWESOME Malibu on Friday before the competition and the Judge’s Experience was so helpful!!! I really learned a lot and will be back for sure!!”

All in all, the Malibu WWA Rider Experience West was a huge success. Huge props from the WWA goes to Malibu Boats, Larson Marine, CTRL Wakeboards, Ronix Wakeboards, and CWB Board Co. for supporting the WWA Rider Experience.
